Study on effect of gas-liquid two phase physical feature on slug flow in microchannels

At present, there are relatively few studies on the slug flow generation mode obtained by exchanging gas-liquid two-phase inlets. In this study, an experimental system combining microfluidic devices and high-speed cameras was used to study effects of rate, liquid physical parameters, etc. , On characteristic length, period other characteristics flow, dimensionless analysis conducted investigate main factors affecting length gas slug. Results show that 1) when rate affects aeroelastic characteristics, increases from 443 μm changes 657 μm. The decreases rapidly at first then change amplitude slows down. maximum value frequency is 217 s -1 ; 2) studying effect different rates, increasing bomb gradually decreases, increases. Aeroelastic 770 378 range cycle 4–13.4 ms, 250 3) a functional relationship between ratio channel size L/d Q * Reynolds number Re, Weber We: L / d =3.677 0.58 Re 0.11 .
